TOYO TAILOR Early 1950s Style Acetate Souvenir Jacket - White Dragon x Tiger Head
$895.00 AUD
Reversable Acetate early 1950's Souvenir Jacket lovingly recreated by Tailor Toyo.
A mid 50's style sukajan in Black/Pink and White featuring different embroidery on each side.
The dragon soaring through the sky with its mane fluttering is embroidered three-dimensionally using white-based colored threads, with partial use of other colors such as yellow for the outline and red for the tongue to create a strong impact.
The reversible side features a distinctive pink body, which is rare even in vintage pieces. The embroidery is a popular design called "Tiger Head" that precisely captures a powerful tiger's face. Each hair on the cheeks and mane is delicately rendered one by one by repeatedly changing the needle steps, showing that this piece was crafted by a highly skilled artisan. The black ribs matching the tiger's color scheme tighten the overall look, creating a sophisticated impression.
